So whats this all about? Urbex is short for Urban Exploration, exploring and photographing abandoned buildings. If you're keen on the sound of this then you've come to the right place. There are different types of things you can do when it comes to Urbex such as, Photography, Infiltration, Draining and Caving or you can do what we like to do, mix them all up and try them all. Common places to explore are hospitals and old houses, NZ's history is pretty young so we can be limited at times when it comes to places but if you keep your eyes peeled you'd be surprised at what you can find.
Over the last couple of years we have both been to so many different places, this is a hobby we have been known to do on more than a few days within one week, its not just a once every couple of months thing. There is a lot that we dont write about, and a lot of photos we dont put up. Bradd has more than 3500 photos (not including multiple exposures) alone, compared to less than 100 up on the websites. Weve met several people that have been into the whole scene, and gone to various locations with them, but most only come out once or twice before disappearing again. If you want to get in touch, or meet and go to a location in real life, try emailing us, we meet a lot of people as long as they make at least a little effort. We are also interested in any news or new locations obviously, and will be keen to go along with you. Otherwise, enjoy!
