Water Treatment Plant
This place was lots of fun. Not only did we run into it accidentally on our way to another location (where I got us lost...again) but it was just the perfect kind of abandoned location to spend your rainy afternoon. Like most places I seem to be exploring lately they all seem to be a challenge to get into, it was once on the roof (and I should note its always on the way back down that I tear my clothes or shoes - thanks Kayla for mending my jacket haha) that we scoped a way in.
As I reached around to open the window (using a few little hints my stepmother had taught me when I was a teenager and used to get locked out of my bedroom) there was bird crap i was trying to avoid using the curtains. Unfortunately a spider jumped out at us (I think he was just excited to be free) but he was a big ugly mother and I was not going to be squeezing through no window having him grinding next to me. (Check him out in the gallery at the bottom of the page)

Jasper whimpered like a little girl, informing me he didn't want to get his ass bitten as he climbed through - imagine taking him down a drain! - theres so many cockroaches that lurk around those filthy man holes. So I flicked Simon the Spider on his way and we slipped through the window. Once inside the upstairs are was in a worse state than below, it appeared to have been disused in early 90's.
It was an odd lay out for a building and I had only ever been inside water treatment plants at hospitals. We found lots of equipment and products still laying about although other people/vandals had made their way through here since its closure, it became clear this place was still active or at least protected when I could hear a beeping noise, so I went off to investigate as Jasper was busy taking photos. I wanted to see how far down the building went, when exploring a building like this you always wonder if there is a cellar or perhaps some tunnels. As I headed towards the bottom I found we had triggered the alarm (wah wah) so I headed back up to let Jasper know. I figured we had already alerted whoever was monitoring said alarm (if anyone) at least 5 minutes ago, so we might as well do get our photos then get out.
We thought we heard foot steps below so made our way to the third floor, probably just the paranoia but we had been in there for a while now. I looked back down the steps one more time as Jasper slipped out the window and couldn't see anyone. Then we where out. Once back on the roof it wasn't the easiest to get down but we had a lot of fun fooling around. I crossed over that thin, shaky piece of plywood three times before making my final decision to go back and climb down the original way.
- Nathan (Tansix) and Thanks to JDX (Jasper) for his photos too
